Technology pilot program is intended to reduce the environmental
impact of palm oil mill effluent, a highly polluting material.

Sheridan, Wyoming, January 9, 2022 – NexGen Fluid Innovations LLC of Sheridan, Wyoming signed a Letter of Intent with Fluid Technology Solutions, Inc. of Albany, Oregon on October 10, 2022, to conduct a pilot test for filtering Palm Oil Mill Effluent (POME) in Indonesia.
NexGen completed a successful pollution-reducing pilot test in late December 2022 and is now designing a large-scale filtration system to address the needs of the Palm Oil facility located in Sumatra, Indonesia.
Indonesia is the world’s leading producer of palm oil, supplying approximately half of the commodity worldwide. While oil palm is a highly efficient crop, there are severe environmental and social consequences of this rapidly expanding industry.
Pollution of soil and water caused by wastewater is one of the major global threats that our environment is facing today. One of the wastewater sources is palm oil mill effluent final discharge (POME FD), which is a by-product of the palm oil extraction process.
“After the successful pilot we are pleased to be going forward with a system six-fold larger than our just completed pilot test. We are currently designing this next system to treat the very difficult effluent stream that is the byproduct of palm oil production. There are well over 1,000 mill facilities in the area of interest and the local provider is targeting 300-400 mills in the next 5 years that could utilize our patented filter system,” stated Rob Kindle, CEO, CFO of NexGen. “Additionally, there are another 1,000 palm oil mills in Mexico and Latin America that have similar issues and needs,” continued Mr. Kindle.
